The Institute of Finance on “Finance from behind the scenes” at the Academy of Zamość

Michał Ostrowski, the author of the study entitled “How does the state finance its activities? The public finance system from behind the scenes”, gave a lecture at the Academy of Zamość, during which he introduced the audience to the latest publication by the Institute of Finance.

The study was published on the website of the Institute of Finance a few days ago. It is a publication that discusses various issues related to state fiscal policy in an accessible and substantive manner.

“One of the cornerstones of the mission of the Institute of Finance is education. We not only conduct a number of studies on current social and economic topics, but also aim at familiarising a broad audience with such issues. This is the objective of our latest study””, said Łukasz Chrobak, Director of the Institute of Finance, while commenting on the reasons behind the publication.

The meeting at the Academy of Zamość, which took place on 7 June, was dedicated to promoting the publication and bringing its specifics to the attention of mainly students and participants in academic life. During the speech delivered by the author, the main topics of “The public finance system from behind the scenes” study were mentioned, including the explanation of the mechanisms governing public debt or the actions of the central bank.

“State fiscal policy can appear to many people as an overly complicated issue subject to many incomprehensible rules. That is why, in a study by the Institute of Finance, we decided to bring this topic closer to all those interested. Although the publication is academic in nature, it is written in accessible language so that it can easily reach everyone”, said Michał Ostrowski.

During the meeting at the Academy of Zamość, its students and academics had the opportunity to read the study and also talk to the author. As the organisers of the event emphasised, it provided an opportunity to discuss the foundations of Polish economic life.
